Homework

Homework is entirely optional; however, as children get older we encourage them to actively complete tasks to help them prepare for the transition to secondary school.

Homework is set on a weekly basis and we use a range of resources. In Maths, we usually use MyMaths.co.uk to set tasks. For English, homework may be related to grammar, spellings or other related tasks. Children also have access to Spelling Shed to practise their weekly spellings.

Once a term, a project-based task is set for children to complete at home. This usually links to a class' significant topic of study in Science, Geography or History but may cover other subjects (at the discretion of individual year groups).

The children can attend a twice-weekly drop-in session to seek help and support with homework or to complete outstanding tasks. This is optional, and the children are regularly reminded that it is on. Likewise, they are also informed when, if for some reason, a session may need to be cancelled.

For more information about specific homework for your child's class or login details for websites, please contact their class teacher directly.
