Headteacher's Welcome and Letters
Welcome to St Andrew's Church of England Junior School, and to our brand new website! We hope you will be able to access all the information you need, but if you want to speak to us about anything, please contact school and we will be happy to help.
Our vision is fundamental to all we do at St Andrew’s and we hope that with your support, we can work together to ensure our children grow up to feel empowered to contribute positively to the society in which they live.
This year we are introducing more exciting changes that will continue to build on the foundations of change made in the last academic year.
Our new curriculum, launched in September 2019, will give us the opportunity to immerse our children in a bespoke curriculum perfectly tailored to meet all their needs.
This is a school with an extraordinary charm and an ethos which holds the children at its heart. St Andrew's is a community school and our children are encouraged to contribute positively and with awareness of not only our school community, but the wider community in which they live. This year, the children will enjoy many opportunities to consider global issues and become conscious citizens for the future.
We are lucky to have a highly-skilled, committed team who strive for the upmost success for our children and who have a caring and supportive ethos at their core. Our MACAWS provision, introduced last year, has proved to be an invaluable resource when supporting our children's mental health and general well-being. We understand that when our children feel safe and supported, they learn better too!
It is our aim to build on these foundations and ensure that our school is forward thinking and ambitious within a supportive and safe environment. I fully appreciate how important each year of a child’s school life is towards preparing them for life. I am passionate about teaching and have high expectations, not only for myself but for all members of our school community. We hope you will support our high expectations in all areas, especially in attendance and behaviour which naturally impacts greatly on achievement.
I will strive to ensure that our school supports children to be whole rounded individuals of strong character. I strongly believe that school is the opportunity for children to discover and unlock hidden talents in a fun and nurturing environment. Every child has the ability to do amazing things if a school provides the right opportunities.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries, concerns or there is anything we can do to help and support you with your child’s learning and school life.
