Safer Internet Day 2022

The theme for this year's Safer Internet Day is 'All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online'

The aims of the day are to raise awareness of:

Being a kind and respectful friend online.

Staying alert to possible dangers.

Respecting other people’s boundaries.

Supporting others to use safety tools.

Speaking up!

Below you will find lots of resources that can be used at home to start discussions about using the internet safely and specifically how to stay safe when playing games on an online platform.

There is a PowerPoint that can be worked through and then a few activities which will highlight some scenarios that pupils might find themselves in when online, designed to make them think about what they would do in that situation. Encourage your child to always 'take a moment' to think before responding to anything online and stress the importance of telling an adult.

Please visit the Parent and Carer tab on the previous page to find guidance and advice on how to help support your child to keep safe online.
