Summer term
Fairness & Equality
We have started the term by exploring the meaning of Fairness & Equality and Social Justice, as they are our Christian Values and Global Goals respectively for the term.
Religious Education
Our Summer term will be spent considering the phrase 'What Would Jesus Do?", how this applies to Christians and what we can take from it and who role models are in our lives.
English
We will be starting off the Summer term by studying the classic, narrative poem, The Highwayman, using the poem as a basis for doing some creative writing and drama activities. We will then move onto reading The Boy At The Back Of The Class, an incredibly thought-provoking text based around refugees and the way in which they are perceived in our society.
Maths
In Maths, we will be focusing on Geometry and getting to grips with different types of angles and how to draw and measure them with a protractor. We'll also learn about calculations involving decimals, before going onto learn about how to convert between various forms of measurement.
We will be making use of MyMaths both in school and at home, as well as Times Tables Rockstars. Be sure to look out for the monthly challenges on TTRS!
Science
Our Science focus this term will be materials and their properties, looking closely at insulators and conductors of heat and electricity. We will use our understanding of insulators to investigate the best materials to use for outdoor clothing in different situations.
