The week beginning 21st May will be our Community Week and the children will be involved in different activities each day. The weather could affect the order of these activities and you will be informed of any changes by text.
In the morning we will be having our annual “Staff Bake Off”.
During the afternoon we will be holding a Community Café (everyone is welcome). Cakes from the Bake-Off will be on sale along with a cuppa. This years proceeds will be split between “Bowel Cancer UK” and “The Brain Tumour Charity”. The children will also be able to buy cakes at afternoon break (£1.00 per slice). The café will be open from 1.30 p.m. Please use the main Hadfield Road entrance.
We are hoping, in the morning, to let each class put plants in their class planter.
The afternoon will be ‘Inter House Sports Day’. Children will need a full PE kit, an extra drink and a hat and sun cream (in case of sunny weather). We would also appreciate your support at this event starting at 1.30pm. Please use the Main Reception entrance (Queen Street)
In the morning we will be supporting the ‘Share a Pencil project’. The children will be involved in activities where they share a pencil.
In the afternoon we will be having the ‘Class Tug of War’. Again children will need full PE kit and a pair of gloves, as the rope can burn a little. On that day, all children will have an ice-cream*. Parents are more than welcome to come and support this activity at 1.30pm. Please use the Main Reception entrance (Queen Street)
We will be having an Inter House Quiz in the afternoon for the children and it will be run along the same lines as University Challenge.
To end the week on a relaxed note, we will be having a Cinema Afternoon in the hall with a great film and popcorn*.
*Please note an alternative snack will be provided for those children not able to have ice-cream/pop-corn, please let your child’s teacher know.
I am sure that you will agree that we have a super week ahead. The weather will determine if we have to re-order the days, but you will be informed as soon as we have made a decision. A big thank you goes out to the P.T.A who have sponsored the events and of course, thank you for your continued support.
